Andy Roddick’s prediction that Novak Djokovic is the favorite to win French Open 2014

In a news interview Live Andy Roddick predicted early on that his favorite is Novak Djokovic for the coveted title of French Open 2014. His prediction is based on the early premise of the games that he has played.

The shocking news put everyone to wonder that how come he left out eight time champion of the clay court Rafael Nadal out. He says that Djokovic’s form is looking absolutely spectacular and he is the one who can beat Nadal at his own game and take away his first grand slam win of clay court. He is in a sympathy mode for Rafael Nadal as according to him winning so many coveted titles is an achievement in itself and one should pay him respect that he deserves but he cannot look at his laurels and be relaxed as every year brings in a moment of achievement for the player and it was the semi final of the French Open last year where Rafael Nadal beat Novak Djokovic and probably in the only time. Hence Djokovic is coming into the grand slam with extra zeal and positives. For Roddick, Djokovic can stop his marathon run at the French Open this year.

He does not feel that Nadal is 100 percent fit and it is the hype that is created every year when he comes in at France as clearly he is the favorite. He thinks that this year Novak might win the French Open title. Comparing it with the past record of the tournament Djokovic seems in fine form and has displayed greater ability than Nadal. Both have reached the semi final though and it is a tough step ahead if they meet up in the finals.
